Andy Bloch Leads Star-Studded WSOP Final Table
- Lance Bradley | June 1, 2008
The 2008 World Series of Poker has its first final table and it’s packed with some of the hottest players on the professional circuit. Andy Bloch leads the way but he’s joined by Kathy Liebert, Nenad Medic, Mike Sexton, Chris Bell, Patrik Antonius and Phil Laak.
Rounding out the final nine is a pair of online poker stars, Mike “SowersUNCC” Sowers and Amit “amak316″ Makhija. (Read Mike Sowers’ blog here)
Bloch leads the way with 2,115,000 followed closely by Medic with 1,200,000 and Sexton with 1,130,000. Over the past 24 months Bloch has become one of the more impressive players on tour. In 2006 the former MIT blackjack team member cashed five times highlighted by his runner-up performance in the first $50,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. event. He most recently finished second to Chris Ferguson in the 2008 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship.
