Anthony Bellino Wins Borgata Deep Stack Poker Tournament

The Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City continues to drive the poker market on the East Coast and this past week showed why.

With a guaranteed prize pool of $500,000 the $2000 + $150 buy-in Deep Stack Tournament drew 956 players putting the eventual prize pool at nearly four times the guaranteed amount. Anthony Bellino, from Yonkers, NY, came out on top of the field taking home the $443,201 first place prize money.

The large prize pool and deep stack structure helped attract a number of top players to the event. Ted Forrest and Anna Wroblewski were joined by 2005 World Series of Poker Main Event runner-up Steven Dannenmann and Andrew Brown, who beat Forrest heads-up for his first WSOP bracelet this summer and

Runner-up Michael Crosby, of Gainesville, VA, earned $272,460 while Bluff Media’s own Eric Morris finished 20th earning $8,604.

“With such a deep structure it certainly allowed for a lot of play,” said Morris. “I wasn’t expecting a field of nearly 1,000 players though. I think that’s a testament to the value that Borgata always gives their poker players. It was a very well run tournament.”
