Antonio Matias Leads EPT Vilamoura Final Table

Apparently bubbling on European Poker Tour final table once was one time too many for Jeff Sarwer and Pierre Neuville. After both recently bubbling EPT final tables they’ve made the jump at EPT Vilamoura and will beat the final table on Sunday.

They will both be chasing current chipleader Antonio Matias though. The 54 year old Portugese businessman went on a tear on Day 4 and in the process eliminated the player who started the day with a substantial chip lead, Antony Lellouche. Matias will start the eight-handed final table with 3,003,000.

Sarwer is his closest competition. The Canadian, who bubbled the final table at EPT Warsaw last month, has 1,983,000 chips. And what would an EPT final table be without a young American looking to make his mark? Ryan “HITTHEPANDA” Franklin, all of eighteen years old, sits in third with 1,047,000 chips. Neuville, who narrowly missed out on the final table at EPT San Remo in April rounds out the top four with 1,027,000.

First place pays €404,793 ($602,000 US). The final table gets underway Sunday afternoon.
