The third and final starting day of the Aussie Millions Main Event brought another 317 players to the felt and pushed the total field to 657. Robert Lam bagged up the biggest chip stack at day’s end but the real story is the player who bagged up 14,400 fewer chips: Phil Ivey.

Lam finished with 198,400 but it was Ivey who grabbed the attention right from the get go. Just four hours into the day Ivey had crested the 100,000 chip mark. He finished with 184,000 after all-but felting Australian cricket superstar Shane Warne.

Ivey wasn’t the only big name to grace the Crown Casino with his presence on Day 1c. Jason Mercier, making his first trip to the Aussie Millions, finished with 41,000. JC Tran (65,000), Taylor von Kriegenbergh (81,000) and James Obst (64,000) also find themselves in contention.

Melanie Weisner, who earlier in the day failed in her attempt to ride a unicycle, broke the 100,000 mark and ended up with 118,700. Weisner was attempting to ride the unicycle in response to a challenge from Tony G. Had she managed to ride the one-wheeled bike, Tony G would have freerolled her into the Main Event.

Only 145 players made it through the seven levels of play. Joining Warne on the outside looking in were Joe and Tony Hachem, Joseph Cheong, Erik Seidel, Daniel Negreanu, Sam Trickett, Chris Moorman, Toby Lewis and former BLUFF Player of the Year Sorel Mizzi.

The 305 players who survived their opening day return to the Crown Casino on Wednesday for another seven levels of play. The overall leader continues to be Brett Watson who was the only player over the three starting days to crest the 200,000 chip mark. Watson finished Day 1a with 257,400.
