BCLC Announce 3rd Annual BC Poker Championships

The British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) has announced the third annual BC Poker Championships, scheduled for November 18 to 25, 2007.
Held at River Rock Casino Resort, the tournament has a total estimated prize pool of over $3.6 million and a top prize of $612,500 to the winner. David White of Abbotsford was last year’s champion, taking home $600,000 plus the champion’s watch.
“This year’s BC Poker Championships feature an action-packed week of Texas Hold ‘em events, an even bigger prize pool, plus a new ladies’ only event,” said Darryl Schiewe, BCLC’s Acting Vice-President of Casino Gaming. “British Columbia has become a magnet for North America’s best poker players because of the caliber of our tournaments.”
The BC Poker Championships include four Texas Hold ‘em events, plus one super satellite:
- November 18 - Ladies’ Only Event with an estimated prize pool of $250,000 based on 500 players and a $500 buy-in.
- November 19 - No Limit Event with an estimated prize pool of $500,000 based on 500 players and a $1,000 buy-in.
- November 20 - Pot Limit Event with an estimated prize pool of $500,000 based on 500 players and a $1,000 buy-in.
- November 21 - Super Satellite Event where players compete to win their entry into the No Limit Main Event. This event is based on 500 players and a $180
buy-in.
- November 22-25 - No Limit Main Event with an estimated prize pool of $2.5 million based on 1,000 players and a $2,500 buy-in.
