BLUFF Magazine Partners with Mid-States Poker Tour
- BLUFF Staff | December 13, 2011
BLUFF Magazine, the poker industry’s leading publication, has partnered with the Mid-States Poker Tour to expand the MSPT into a national series with events running across the United States.
“We’re excited to be working with the Mid-Stakes Poker Tour and really look forward to taking the brand to a national level,” said Eric Morris, Co-President of BLUFF Media, BLUFF Magazine’s parent company. “By acquiring shares in the MSPT we’ve committed to developing something on a grander scale.”
The MSPT is a series of affordable deep stack poker tournaments currently held throughout the Midwest. Founded in 2009, the MSPT offers tournaments with a $1,000 buy-in and guarantees ranging from $100,000 to $300,000.
“We really believe we’re on the verge of something special. By working with BLUFF we’re going to increase the exposure for the tour, the players and the casinos we partner with,” said Bryan Mileski, founder of MSPT. “Adding the BLUFF brand to the MSPT also adds a certain level of prestige we wouldn’t have been able to achieve otherwise.”
Under the terms of the deal the MSPT will become the BLUFF Magazine Mid-States Poker Tour and eventually the BLUFF Poker Tour. Mileski will continue to run the day-to-day operations of the tour. All MSPT events will be broadcast on BluffMagazine.com using the state-of-the-art RFID (radio-frequency identification) poker table which will allow viewers at home to see players hole cards.
In the coming months BLUFF plans on announcing further enhancements to the tour including an online element which will allow everybody a chance at competing.

upon reading the first sentence you know the MSPT and the effort are doomed.
I wonder if the tournament structures are any better than the horrible structures of the hpt.
I try to play in all the MSPT events, they are awesome! The structure is great, the people who run it are at all the events and extremely personable. They have built a large following in a short period of time. Highly recommended! Bluff is smart to partner with them.
