Churchill Downs Incorporated is the new owner of Bluff Media

The assets of Bluff Media, the parent company to BLUFF Magazine and FIGHT! Magazine, have been acquired by Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) the two companies announced on Friday. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

“Churchill Downs has a long tradition of excellence and has continued to evolve and diversify its holdings over 138 years,” said BLUFF Co-founder Eddy Kleid. “This business combination makes sense for us, and it’s an opportunity we’re excited to have”

The assets acquired by Churchill Downs Incorporated include BLUFF Magazine, BluffMagazine.com, ThePokerDB and various URLs including Bluff.com and BluffPoker.com.

“We’re extremely excited to be joining forces with Churchill Downs. We look forward to having the experience of their management team behind us,” said BLUFF Co-founder Eric Morris.

In addition to their intention to further expand and build upon Bluff Media’s current content and business model, CDI management believes this acquisition potentially provides the company with new business avenues to pursue in the event there is a liberalization of state or federal laws with respect to Internet poker in the United States.

Bluff Media’s co-presidents, Morris and Kleid, and vice president of online operations, Jeff Markley, will continue in their current roles.
