Bodog Offering Wide Range of November Nine Props
- Lance Bradley | November 8, 2008
The most heavily marketed, and arguably most important, final table in poker history is just 24 hours away. For those not in the November Nine or those making the trip to the Penn & Teller Theatre at the Rio in Las Vegas, Bodog has found a way to put you in the action.
Ten different props are available for poker fans to bet on as the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event plays down to a champion beginning Sunday morning. The most popular prop is undoubtedly “Who will win” and chip leader Dennis Phillips is tied with Scott Montgomery and Ivan Demidov as the favorite at 4/1.
Bodog has had the props up since the tournament went on pause in mid-July and with the success of both Montgomery and Demidov in other events sharp bettors have been betting on those two to come through with the bracelet. The longshot is Kelly Kim, who has only 2,620,000 in chips and will need some serious luck to not finish 9th. The California-based poker pro is a 15/1 longshot.
“The big difference this year is that Bodog has had enough time to get specific Final table props bets up, and the public is able to watch these players on TV and see how they play,” said Richard Gardner, BodogLife.com Sportsbook Manager. “For this reason, Final Table betting action is busier than past years. There is action on every bet, from “who will start with the dealer button”, to the “last card dealt on the final hand.”
With five Americans, two Canadians, a Dane and a Russian at the final table Bodog is also offering the chance to bet on the nationality of the winner. Betting on an American, which includes Kim, Phillips, David “Chino” Rheem, Ylon Schwartz and Craig Marquis pays 5/7. Denmark, represented by Peter Eastgate, is the longshot of the group at 9/2.
For those who want to believe in Cinderella and will be pulling for the shortstack Kim you can also bet on who the first player eliminated will be. Kim is the favorite here even money but Rheem is 5/1 and Marquis is 6/1. Phillips is a 15/1 longshot to hit the rail before any other players.
There are also a series of last longer bets allowing you to bet on Phillips vs. Demidov, Eastgate vs. Montgomery, Suharto vs. Schwartz and Rheem vs. Marquis.
