With the start of the 2008 World Series of Poker now only hours away Harrah’s has announced another major sponsor from within the poker community. CardRunners.com, one of the top poker educational websites, has signed on to become the official sponsor of the satellite room, which this year will be just outside the Amazon Room at the Rio.

Every summer, players from across the globe travel to Las Vegas in hopes of achieving poker greatness,” said Taylor Caby, one of the founders of CardRunners. “We”ll be glad to assist them in their quest to become the next WSOP champion. We”re hopeful someone will parlay a small investment in the CardRunners Satellite Room into a WSOP bracelet.”

The website will also have a display in the hallway outside the Amazon Room allowing visitors to learn more about the site and receive a free 24-hour trial. CardRunners videos, the staple of the site, will be running on plasma screens throughout the 7 weeks of WSOP play.

The CardRunners announcement comes on the heels of Harrah’s announcing New York-based Gamma Labs had signed on to have their feature product, Gamma-O Plus Pomegranate, as an official sponsor of the WSOP.

“We are thrilled to welcome Gamma Labs to the poker fold,” said Jeffrey Pollack, WSOP commissioner.
