Cyndy Violette Hosting Charity Tournament on Full Tilt Poker
- Lance Bradley | May 15, 2009
She’s going into the Women in Poker Hall of Fame later this year but this weekend Cyndy Violette is donating her time and her name to help out three charitable causes.
Sunday at 5 pm ET poker players can take part in a $5 +$5 tournament on Full Tilt Poker with the $5 fee going directly to one of three charities. The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, Paralyzed Veterans of America, and Special Olympics through Poker Gives are the three organizations being honored with this special tournament.
The tournament is open for registration now under the “Private” tab in the Full Tilt software. Other red Full Tilt Pros are expected to particpate including Andy Bloch and Marco Traniello. Each charity has a history of working with professional poker players.
The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund supports men and women of the Armed Forces and their families. The fund has provided families with over $65 million since its inception in 2000. They have previously held charity events with the support of Phil Gordon. For more information visit http://www.fallenheroesfund.org.
The Paralyzed Veterans of America works to enhance the lives of members with spinal cord injuries and spinal cord diseases. The charity is the only congressionally chartered veterans organization dedicated to this kind of research. For more information visit http://www.pva.org.
The third charity is the Special Olympics, a group supported by Poker Gives. The Special Olympics is a global nonprofit organization targeting the nearly 200 million people round the world who have intellectual disabilities. For more information on Poker Gives visit http://www.pokergives.org.
