EPT: Brosolo Leads The Way in Prague After Two Days Of Play
- Jason Kirk | December 3, 2009
The last stop on the European Poker Tour for this decade is drawing closer to a final table now that two days of play are in the books in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic. Just 95 players of the original starting field of 584 were able to make it through Day 2, leaving the tournament just 15 spots off the money as action paused for the night.
Leading the pack today was Yann Brosolo of France, who ended the day with 574,000 in chips. With just a handful of small cashes to his credit, Brosolo is mostly an unknown quantity - much like his fellow Frenchman, Rui Cao, who also has a few small cashes to his name and is currently sitting in second place. A little further down the lips are plenty of EPT regulars. Pieter De Korver and Antony Lellouche lurk back in the top ten, while Luca Pagano, Anthony Roux, Arnaud Mattern, Marcin Horecki, Jude Ainsworth, Nicolas Levi, Florian Langmann, Jan Boubli, and Day 1B chip leader Markus Heiene and hang on to enough chips to give them a fighting chance.
One player who didn’t survive the day was Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier. Joining him on the rail before the day was done were JP Kelly, Katja Thater, Jeff Sarwer, Marcel Luske, Alex Kravchenko, Thierry van den Berg, Jon Kabbaj, Noah Boeken, Darus Suharto, Leo Margets, and Day 1A chip leader Marc Gork.
Play resumes tomorrow at noon Prague time, and the money bubble should burst within the first few levels of play.
