EPT: Paul Guichard Takes Slim Chip Lead to Deauville Final Table

Guichard stormed to the top of the leaderboard on a day where 16 players met their demise. The TV bubble boy was Sergey Baburin who was eliminated by Bruno Jai in ninth spot.
The other four French players who still have a shot to win an EPT on home soil are Olivier Rogez (4,415,000), Jais (3,450,000), Vuong Than Trong (2,570,000) and Yorane Kerignard (1,680,000). For the seventh time in his career Luca Pagano will be at the final table of a European Poker Tour event. The Italian poker pro will start the final table sixth in chips with 2,010,000. Despite making six previous final tables his previous best finish came in September 2004 when he finished 3rd at EPT Barcelona.
The short stack is Ireland’s Mick Graydon. He’ll start Monday with 960,000, just 16 big blinds. When play resumes the average chip stack will be 3.33 million and blinds will be 30,000/60,000 (5,000 ante).
The final table gets under way at 6pm ET and will air live on PokerStars.tv.
