European Poker Tour Announces Season 5 Schedule
- Lance Bradley | June 14, 2008
Coming off of their most successful season ever the PokerStars European Poker Tour has announced a total of nine stops, including the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo, on the Season 5 schedule.
The tour kicks off with the Barcelona Open at Casino Barcelona, September 10 to 14 before moving to Victoria Casino for EPT London, October 1 to 5. Also included this season are stops in Poland, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy and the Czech Republic. The Grand Final is scheduled for April 28 to May 4.
“The new EPT season includes all the events which have made the past four seasons such a triumph with record fields across Europe and record prize pools” said John Duthie, EPT founder. “We have set very high standards and aim to improve on this still further in Season 5.”
Not included on this year’s schedule is the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure or the Dublin Open. There were rumors of a stop being added in Moscow, Russia for this season but that appears to not be the case. The schedule however could change.
“The tour will take in nine countries including the return of the ever popular Deauville event in France and we are expecting to add new venues to the tour,” said Duthie. “We anticipate the EPT making an even bigger impact in Season 5, attracting more players from all around the world and even larger prize pools.”
