Final Table Set at Inaugural Latin American Poker Tour Event

The PokerStars Latin American Poker Tour kicked off their first event Saturday with 314 players hitting the felt in Rio de Janeiro in pursuit of the $222,940 first place prize. After two days of play the final table is set with a collection of players from around the world.

The only easily recognizable name at the final table is Alex Brenes, brother of Humberto Brenes. He sits third with 324,000 chips, well behind chip leader Julien Nuijten.. The former Magic the Gathering World Championis 590,000 ahead of the only American at the final table, Vitaly Kovyazin.

A total of 8 countries are represented at the final table. Holland, USA, Costa Rica, Germany, Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil and Switzerland all have on player still in contention while Germany has two players going for the title. The hometown crowd will undoubtedly be behind Eduardo Henriques, who has 275,000.

The final table will begin at 2 pm Rio de Janeiro time.
