- Paul Oresteen | May 1, 2010
Friday’s action in FTOPS XVI saw Aditya “Intervention” Agarwal make two final tables in one night and Red Full Tilt Pros finishing just short of the final table. Jon Turner finished 7th in the 6-max event, Jeff Madsen finished in 11th in the Shootout event and Artie Cobb managed a 16th place finish in Razz.
FTOPS Event #22: $200+16 NL Hold’em 6-max
In just over six hours Mickey “Mement_mori” Petersen took down the gold jersey and $86,716 that came with it. Turner was the only Red Pro to cash in the evnet with his 7th place finish. The event attracted 2,181 entrants and the generated a prize pool of $436,200 beating the guarantee.
Agarwal made the first of his two final tables tonight and finished 3rd. Other notable finishers are recent gold jersey winner thechemist83 45th, James “bob2bob” Page 30th and the bubble boy was BLUFF 2010 OPOY contender Corey “Comandr_Cool” Burbick.

Intervention made his second final table of the night with a 6th place finish. He may have wanted a gold jersey, but he’ll the $52,603 he made tonight should soften the blow a bit.
Madsen came close to the final table and took to Twitter about his tortuous beat that eliminated him. First he sent “Last pro left in the $500 shootout FTOPS. 5 left at my second table… 4 people between me and final table.” Then he counted down until heads up but then: “AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK TT vs. J9 to make ftops final table Jack on turn”. Then he followed with another 145 characters of jibberish typing across two messages.

The site got it right when Cobb was chosen to host the Razz event, he made it to the final two tables. Also placing in the event was Red Pro Marc Karam, Brent “bhanks11″ Hanks and Yuval “yuvee04″ Bronshtein. Bronshtein won two FTOPS events in the same day in 2008.

As with most Razz events, the final table took a lot of hands to work itself out – 397 handshands in all. In fact, kalapana808 was eliminated on the 138th hand of the final table setting up a heads-up battle that lasted for 258 hands.
OWiseOne83 finally shut the door on luckboxstation after a heads-up match that saw the chiplead change hands multiple times each level during the later stages. But OWiseOne83 made a 7-6-4-2-A after starting with 7-6-A and luckboxstation made a 9-7-6-5-3 after beginning the hand with 9-6-3.
To reach his spot on the rail kalapana808 made a Q-8-3-2-A and luckboxstation maded 8-7-4-3-2 and kalapana808 was done in 3rd place.
Fourth place finisher skanky980 had better door cards but didn’t catch quite as well as luckboxstation. Skanky890 drew to a T-9-6-2-A but luckboxstation rivered a 6 to make a 9-8-7-6-4 low.
Before that OWiseOne83 made a 8-7-6-5-2 low to eliminate BigWade82′s Jack low and ended his tournament in 5th place.
