And just like that, FTOPS XVII is over and done with. Sunday was a fast-paced, action-packed, and big money day at the online tables as the online series wrapped up with Day 2 of its prestigious two-day event, two events with huge prize pools and, of course, the FTOPS Main Event.

The Main Event drew 4,805 runners, a small increase over the 4,534 who took to the felt for the Main Event of FTOPS XVI back in May. Despite the huge field, there was still an overlay on the $3 million guarantee with Full Tilt Poker adding an extra $117,000 in juice to the price pool. The big prize pool ensured six-figure paydays for the top five finishers and tons of action as the massive field fought their way to the final table.

In the end, the win went to TyboVegas, who made a deal heads-up with DQnk to guarantee each player more than $420,000. While TyboVegas got the smaller chunk of the chop, he did pull out the win to claim the jersey and the honor of FTOPS XVII Main Event Champion. Jeremy “JBurleson” Burleson, who won the Triple Shootout earlier this series, also made the final table, finishing in ninth place.

The top two finishers in the Main Event were not the only players to earn over $400,000 at the FTOPS tables yesterday. After coming in second in chips at the start of Day 2 of Event #29, the $2,000 buy-in two-day event, McLean “PureProfitFour” Karr rode his chip stack to victory to claim the jersey and the top prize of $417,000. Karr won the event outright, while Shawn “buck99” Buchanan came in third place, earning $198,000.

The other two winners on the day were DrunkSpirit and Dalbaiyob, each of whom earned in the vicinity of $200,000 for winning the Six-handed Knockout Event and the Rush NLHE w/ rebuys event respectively. There was over $7 million in prize money spread across the four events, making this Sunday one of the more lucrative online poker days of the year.

The conclusion of the FTOPS also means the end of the FTOPS Player of the Series race. The points remained virtually unchanged in the top five, meaning that duel jersey winner Mike “chapmoney” Chappus locked up the crown and can start practicing his poses for his custom Full Tilt Poker avatar photo shoot in the near future.
