Full Tilt Poker Academy Opens Its Virtual Doors
- Jason Kirk | March 6, 2009
Aspiring poker players just got another option for learning to play the game with the new Full Tilt Poker Academy.
While the concept of multimedia educational poker site isn’t groundbreaking, the number of world class established pros involved - including the likes of Phil Ivey, Andy Bloch, Chris Ferguson, Jennifer Harman, Erik Seidel, and Allen Cunningham - is certainly impressive. Given the price tag (free) and the number of games and topics the site covers, the average user certainly looks to gain something by spending some time on the site.
“We’ve brought the Full Tilt Pros together to provide a classroom unlike any other,” Howard Lederer and Phil Gordon tell aspiring students on the Academy’s front page. “As the Academy’s Deans, we’re committed to providing the most comprehensive and compelling poker education experience anywhere.”
That poker education features plenty of the standard sort of videos users have come to expect, but they serve as only part of the whole experience. The rest of the Academy curriculum consists of Lessons, Interactive Sit-n-Learn, and Pro Podcasts, all designed to give players access to the thought proceses of some of the game’s most successful players. The library of content promises to evolve with new content to be added on a regular basis.
Players will also have the chance to put what they’ve learned to the test in real money situations with the Academy’s Challenges. Successfully applying techniques learned from the Full Tilt pros can earn players Full Tilt Points, tournament tokens, and even cash bonuses.
The Academy, located here, is open to new and existing Full Tilt players alike.
