Grinder Signs on With Absolute Poker
- BLUFF Staff | June 25, 2006
Poker Royalty announced today that its exclusive client, poker wunderkind Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi (pictured) has signed a consulting agreement with Absolute Poker and will wear its logo during tournaments, make personal appearances and appear in advertising on behalf of the online poker site.
At the tender age of 25 and with just two years on the professional tournament circuit, The Grinder has earned over $5,250,000. He is currently the number one ranked player in the world according to Poker Pages, and was also named the 2005 Poker Pages Player of the Year.
No player has been as successful and consistent on the tournament circuit over the past two years. At the 2005 World Series of Poker, he finished in the money seven times, which led all players at the series. He also has four World Poker Tour final tables and two WPT wins.
“Over the past few months I’ve gotten to know the Absolute Poker team and I feel really good about who they are and where the company is going. I love the software and I feel great about the product. I couldn’t be happier to join the Absolute Poker team,” said Michael Mizrachi.
“This was a no-brainer for Absolute Poker. Not only is he a phenomenal poker player and currently ranked number one in the world, but he is a great guy as well. Michael will make a great ambassador for Absolute Poker,” said Mark Seif, Vice President of Absolute Entertainment, parent company of Absolute Poker. “It couldn’t have been easier to reach terms with Brian Balsbaugh as he understands the poker business very well,” explained Seif.
“Michael would be a great fit for almost any online poker room and I fielded many calls from interested sites and turned down multiple offers. This took several months because it wasn’t just about the money - it was about the right fit. Absolute Poker is a fantastic organization and I predict a very long, mutually beneficial relationship,” said Brian Balsbaugh, President & CEO of Poker Royalty.
