Poker pro JC Tran won event #7 at the Bellagio’s Five Diamond World Poker Classic yesterday, banking over $266,000 and defeating one of the toughest final tables ever in the process.

The $2,000 no limit hold ‘em event drew 379 players and by the time play reached the final table, every amateur in the field had been sent to the rail, leaving the following experienced poker minds to battle it out for the first place prize:

JC Tran, David “The Dragon” Pham and good friend Men “The Master” Nguyen, online poker sensation Justin “ZeeJustin” Bonomo, Barry Greenstein, British poker vet Peter Gould, online pro Todd “NSXT2″ Arnold, seasoned Vegas-based player Ken James, and 2006 WSOP event #32 runner-up Alan Sass.

After Men “The Master” Nguyen was eliminated by his buddy David “The Dragon” Pham, JC Tran made quick work of the Dragon when his Big Slick overtook Pham’s pocket tens after the two players got all their chips in before the flop.

JC Tran (pictured) is having a great end to 2006, winning the PokerStars WCOOP Main Event in October for over $670,000, a World Poker Finals event at Foxwoods for over $310,000, and now a Five Diamond World Poker Classic event for another $266,000.
