Online poker room Absolute Poker added 24-year-old poker player Matt “Plattsburgh” Vengrin to its stable of sponsored pros yesterday.

Vengrin is no stranger to an online poker sponsorship, having been associated with Full Tilt Poker before siging his new deal with Absolute. “I am honored and humbled that I was chosen to help represent Absolute Poker,” Vengrin said of his new affiliation. “I believe in the brand and look forward to a long term relationship working side by side with the management team.”

A regular on the tournament circuit, Vengrin has amassed winnings of more than $1.5 million between live and online tournaments. Among the top cashes in his live career are two World Series of Poker final table appearances, including a third-place score of $167,973 in last year’s $3,000 No Limit Hold’em, and a seventh place finish in the 2007 Aruba Poker Classic. Online, meanwhile, he has pulled down multiple six-figure scores including a 2007 FTOPS $300 rebuy win on Full Tilt Poker.

Vengrin is one of the owners, and seems to be the marketing genius behind PlayerGPS.com – an online poker player tracking website that has the backing of several online poker phenoms. He will be playing on Absolute Poker, part of the CEREUS Network with UltimateBet, under the screen name mattvengrin.
