National Heads-Up Poker Championship to Begin Airing Sunday on NBC

For the next six Sundays poker fans will be busy - at least for two hours each afternoon. The 2008 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship will air every Sunday at Noon ET.

Included in the field of 64 is a who’s who of poker today as well as a mix of poker-playing celebrities like Shannon Elizabeth, Don Cheadle and Jason Alexander. The field was divided into four brackets named for the suits of cards.

This Sunday’s episodes will focus on both the Clubs and Spades bracket. In the first hour viewers can hope to see coverage of Chris Ferguson vs. John JuandaMike Matusow vs. Joe HachemPatrik Antonius vs. Gabe Kaplan and the controversial match between Tom Dwan andPhil Hellmuth. The second hour will show Chris Moneymaker vs. Jerry YangPhil Ivey vs. Alisha KunzeDavid Williams vs. Johnny Chan and Cheadle vs Gus Hansen.
