During the World Series of Poker every year the game’s top players all find time to relax by finding time for a round or two of golf. One of those players is Daniel Negreanu and he’s hoping to find some poker players willing to play 18 all for a charitable cause.

Negreanu announced plans this week for the Big Swing charity golf tournament to benefit the Lili Claire Foundation, a charity dedicated to helping children living with neurological conditions. The tournament will be held June 25th, on day before the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event, at the Rio Secco Golf Club in Las Vegas.

“I love golf, I love poker and I love the Lili Claire Foundation. This event is a true passion of mine and I personally guarantee that everyone who participates will have a great time at a first-class event,” said Negreanu. “One hundred percent of the money we raise will go to the charity, everyone is really stepping up. We have so many ideas to make the event fun and raise money for a great children’s charity located here in Las Vegas.”

The event will feature 30 amateur teams with each playing with one professional poker player. The draw to determine which poker pro is matched with his or her team will be held at the pairing party where players will be treated to a brunch. There is also a closest to the pin competition on the par 3 7th hole where players will compete against Negreanu.

The Lili Claire Foundation was created in 1998 by Keith and Leslie Resnick after their daughter was diagnose with a neurogenetic birth condition known as Williams Syndrome. Lilli Claire Resnick died at five-and-a-half months old following an 18-hour surgery. The Resnick’s hope to use the charity to enhance the lives of children born with special needs while offering hope to the families.
