Online Poker: Durrrr Has a Killer Week at the Tables
- Jessica Welman | March 8, 2010
The action in the durrrr Challenge over the past week may not have been lengthy, but it was certainly noteworthy. Over the course of one 4-hand session and another 364-hand session, Tom “durrrr” Dwan added an additional $343,157 to his winnings and extended his overall lead to $1,755,708. With 33,242 hands in the books and only 16,758 hands to go, it is looking more and more likely that Dwan will win this infamous prop bet and add an additional $500,000 to his bankroll courtesy of his opponent, Patrik Antonius.
The Challenge victory is just another feather in Dwan’s cap for 2010. He may have ended 2009 on a sour note, but durrrr has really turned things around this year and is up over $2 million online so far. On Saturday Dwan booked an impressive $1.3 million in profits, thanks in part to PixKim, who dropped a million dollars on the day. A chunk of Dwan’s profits came at the $300/$600 PLO tables, where he won a massive 3-way all-in pot worth $423,000 against PixKim and Antonius.

As for the Challenge play, even though the duo only played 384 hands in an hour or so at the tables, there were a few substantial pots. Durrrr won the biggest hand of the night worth $213,785.50. After a series of four preflop raises, Dwan and Antonius saw a flop of 9

with $64,800 already in the pot. Antonius was sitting with $74,000 to Dwan’s $93,000 and potted it on the flop. Dwan raised enough to put Antonius all-in and Antonius called with A

Antonius was able to pick up a $184,000 pot of his own when his K

Durrrr is currently in San Jose playing in the World Poker Tour Bay 101 event, so there will be no Challenge play this afternoon, but considering Dwan lasted just a couple of hours at the LA Poker Classic, there is certainly the possibility that he will be back to the online grind by supper time.
