This past Sunday, the tournament with the most bang for your buck was not the Sunday Million, the $750K Guarantee, the Sunday Warm-Up or even the Sunday Quarter Million. It was the FTOPS Warm-Up: a $5 buy-in event that drew 43,874 participants. Part of the lure was the $250,000 guarantee Full Tilt put on the event and the site also made an effort to run an extensive schedule of micro-satellites into the unofficial kickoff to the 14th installment of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS).

The huge turnout meant that Full Tilt only had to throw in an additional $1,000 or so in order to meet the guarantee. The precursor to the latest FTOPS installment was won by “propopl77,” who netted their first five-figure score in just their 13th tournament ever played on the site.

While the FTOPS Warm-Up is not officially part of the FTOPS XIV festivities, it served as a nice precursor to the latest installment of the series, which boasts a guaranteed $16 million in prize money spread out over twenty-five events. The series begins tomorrow with a $200+$16 buy-in 6-Handed No Limit Hold’em event with a $1 million guarantee and concludes on Sunday November 15th with the FTOPS Main Event, which will feature a $2.5 million guarantee.   These are just two of the six events that  boast a 7 figure guarantee this series.  Other marquee events on the schedule include a $300 No Limit Hold’em event with a $1.5 million guarantee this coming Sunday and the popular $2,500 buy-in two-day event which was taken down last year by Jake “psutennis11″ Toole.  Last series’ Main Event crown went to the player known as “Poligraph,” while James “bob2bob” Page took home Player of the Series (you can read more about Page here).
