Online Poker: hAAydon Wins FTOPS Event #22

Event #22 of Full Tilt Poker’s FTOPS IX wrapped up on Sunday when the remaining players returned to their screens to play for the big cash prize and the gold jersey.

The two-day event saw 942 entrants pay the $2,500 buy-in, bringing the total prize pool to $2,355,000. The winner was scheduled to receive $541,650, the largest single prize of FTOPS IX.

The final table began with triathlon4 holding the chip lead, trailed closely by hAAydon. This is what the chip counts looked like when the final table began.

ClockWyze was one of the shortstacks and moved all-in from the big blind after BootySmooth had limped in from the small blind.

ClockWyze hit a three on the flop but it wasn’t enough to overtake BootySmooth’s pocket queens and ClockWyze was eliminated in 9th place.

Yeshaya lost the majority of his stack to Tony G on a previous hand and moved all-in before the flop for less than 57,000 with blinds at 8K/16K (2K ante). BootySmooth made the call.

BootySmooth flopped a full house to knock out Yeshaya in 8th place and claim his second consecutive elimination.

With blinds at 10K/20K (2,500 ante), hAAydon opened with an all-in bet from the small blind and theMightyZep called from the big blind for his stack of 302,012.

The coin-flip went to hAAydon as he turned the nuts, eliminating theMightZep in 7th place and guaranteeing every remaining player a seven figure payout.

After knickadam55 raised to 55,555 from middle position, Tony G reraised all-in from the big blind for 277,778. knickadam55 quickly called and the hands were turned over.

Tony G flopped a straight draw but was unable to hit the seven he needed. knickadam55 won the pot and the table was down to five handed.

hAAydon raised to 50,800 from first position and BootySmooth called from the button. Both blinds folded and the two players went heads-up to the flop.

hAAydon bet 68,800 on the flop and BootySmooth raised all-in for over 300,000. hAAydon quickly called.

The flop gave both players an overpair to the board and BootySmooth raised all-in after hAAydon led out on the flop. hAAydon quickly called with kings and BootySmooth was eliminated in fifth place.

With blinds at 12K/24K (3K ante) sebbau raised to 58,000 from under-the-gun and knickadam55 reraised all-in for 558,261 from the big blind. sebbau called for his last 302,704.

sebbau hit the ten he needed on the flop, but the turn gave knickadam55 the nut straight and sebbau was sent to the rail in fourth place.

The remaining three players paused the tournament and agreed on a deal which would give each player more than the second place prize. The three players agreed that triathlon4 would get $350,000, knickadam55 would get $370,000 and chipleader hAAydon would get $380,000. The deal left $36,287.50 on the table for the winner.

With blinds at 20K/40K (5K ante) knickadam55 raised to 105,555 and hAAydon reraised all-in for more than 2 million. knickadam55 called for his stack of 890,355.

hAAydon hit his ace on the flop to win the race and extend his chip lead going into the heads-up match against triathlon4.

With a chip advantage of more than 2:1, hAAydon raised to 100,000 pre-flop and triathlon came back with a reraise to 1,240,000, commiting most of his stack. hAAydon reraised all-in and triathlon4 called.
