Online Poker: Isildur1 and Antonius Play Record-Setting Hand
- Jessica Welman | November 21, 2009

Antonius Sitting Pretty
The matches aren’t even over yet, but Isildur1’s latest battles with Patrik Antonius and Phil Ivey have already become big news. It has been a rough day for the mystery Swede at the tables and Antonius just made it even worse after winning the biggest online cash game pot in history, this time worth $1,356,946.50. This pot shatters the record Antonius and Isildur1 set just a few days earlier worth $878,958.50. Here is how the new record-setting pot went down:
Antonius had been sitting on the Full Tilt Pot Limit Omaha $500/$1,000 table, Royal Guard, with more than a million to his name for several hours. Isildur1 managed to work his way up from his initial buy-in of $200,000 to more than $675,000 and an enormous pot between the two seemed imminent. Antonius had over $1,250,000 on the table, which was more than enough to set up the first seven-figure pot in online poker history.
The hand began when Isildur1 raised to $3,000 from the button. Antonius made it $9,000 to go and Isildur1 responded by 4-betting to $27,000. The preflop aggression does not end there though. Antonius put in a 5-bet to $81,000 and Isildur1 opted to call.
With more than $160,000 in the pot already, Antonius led out for $91,000 after the flop fell 5

on the river sent the record-setting pot Antonius’ way. Antonius is now up nearly $2 million in the past 24 hours alone.
Isildur1 had already dropped a fair chunk of change to Antonius during the session and that hand only amplified his losses. He was able to recoup some of his funds in a nearly $830,000 pot against Ivey, but Ivey has since won that money back as their match continues on into the night. Be sure to check back in with BLUFF for a full recap and highlights from Isildur1’s Ivey and Antonius matches once they come to a close, though when these epic battles will come to a close is still up in the air.
