Online Poker: kared69 Wins PokerStars Sunday Million

PokerStars drew another field of over 7,000 players Sunday to their marquee tournament, the Sunday Million putting the total prize pool at $1,422,400 and first place paying $200,558.50. Just after 3 am ET kared69, from Edmonton, AB, emerged as the winner. Here’s a breakdown of each player’s elimination from the Sunday Million final table. With action folded to him in the small blind KILLER ACE moved all-in for 7,459,724 and was called by perezj234 in the big blind. KILLER ACE showed Kh Jc while perezj234 showed Jh Td. The board came 8d 4h 2c Ah 6s and perezj234 was the first player eliminated from play.

Blinds: 150K/300K (30K antes)

From middle position bestbuy82 raised to 750,000 and Genius005ca moved all-in for 3,596,460 from the big blind; bestbuy82 calld. When the cards were turned over bestbuy82 showed Qc Qd and found himself well ahead of the Ac Jh of Genius005ca. The flop came Th 5d Kh giving Genius005ca extra outs with the straight draw but the turn brought the 2d and the river was the 3h sending Genius005ca to the rail.

Blinds:  200K/400K (40K antes)

From UTG kared69 raised to 3,200,000 which was followed by traction1 moving all-in for 5,609,107 from middle position. kared69 showed Qs Qh and was racing against the Ad Kh of traction1. The board delivered nothing but bricks for traction1 and he busted from the Sunday Million in seventh spot.

Eliminated in 6th place: draqq
Blinds:  200K/400K (40K antes)

Another battle of small blind vs. big blind resulted in yet another playing being sent to the rail. Action fold to etushekki in the small blind and he moved all-in for 10.582,573 and draqq called all-in from the big blind. Etushekki showed Qc Jh and found himself behind draqq’s Ks Kc. But the board brought relief for etushekki and a bad beat for draqq. With 7d Th 8s 7s 9d on the board etushekki made a queen-high straight to bust draqq.

Eliminated in 5th place: KILLER ACE
Blinds:  200K/400K (40K antes)

The tight play continued at the final table and the result was another battle of the blinds culminating in the fifth elimination. KILLER ACE, the shortest remaining stack at the table, moved all-in for 3,287,821 from the small blind and kared69, the largest remaining stack, called from the big blind. KILLER ACE showed Ad 7d and kared69 turned over Qh 7s. The board came 5c Qd 4d Ks 4h and kared69’s top pair was good enough to take down the hand and eliminate another player from the Sunday Million.

Blinds:  250K/500K (50K antes)  

For the first time at this Sunday Million an elimination hand not did not involve pre-flop, all-in betting. From the button bestbuy82 raised to 1,250,000; Stefano/Zio called from the small blind. The flop came As 7s Ts and both players checked. The turn was the Jh and Stefano/Zio bet 2,000,000 and bestbuy82 moved all-in for 11,810,018; Stefano/Zio called and showed 7h 7d for a set but the Kh Qd that bestbuy82 showed gave him a straight and when the river didn’t pair the board Stefano/Zio was done.

Blinds:  300K/600K (60K antes)

Bestbuy82 called from the small blind and kared69 raised to 4,000,000. Bestbuy82 re-raised to 19,012,354 and kared69 called. Kared69 held 8h 8s and bestbuy82 was in trouble with As 8c. The flop came 6c 5h 4c giving both players a gutshot straight draw. The Kc came on the turn and the Jh hit the river and bestbuy82 was ousted.

From the button kared69 called the big blind only to have etushekki raise to 3,200,000; kared69 called. The flop came Jc 7c 2s and etushekki moved all-in for 13,652,68. Kared69 called and revealed Ad As to the 7d Td of etushekki. With no help on the turn (2d) or the river (Kc) etushekki was the final elimination of the Sunday Million and kared69 was victorious.
