Online Poker: Mark “newhizzle” Newhouse Owns Sunday Million

This week’s Sunday Million was a blast from the past with not one, but two online poker pros who first burst on the scene a couple of years ago. Team PokerStars Pro Hevad “RaiNKHaN” Khan may have calmed down when it comes to his behavior at live poker tournaments, but he gave the rail a little glimpse of the old-school RaiNKHaN. Check out the chat box in the screen shot of the final table and you’ll notice that Khan was more than a little happy to be there.

One player who was certainly happy to be there was Mark “newhizzle” Newhouse, who took down the Million outright, taking the entirety of the $245,897.13 first place prize. Khan, meanwhile, had to settle for 8th place. It looked like it might be two major final tables for Newhizzle last night, but he fell just short in the Sunday 500, finishing in 13th place. Full Tilt’s $750,000 Guarantee ended with a two way chop with “tablepiece” taking the victory and $111,319.74 while Jeff “pat4ak2” Sharkey was the runner-up, earning $103,819.73.

Even though he finished in 3rd place in yesterday’s Sunday Brawl on Full Tilt, Casey “bigdogpckt5s” Jarzabek took far and away the biggest chunk of the prize pool, netting $82,408.15. Jarzabek had a substantial chip lead at the time of the 4-way chop, but would end up busting out in 3rd while “lancer0410” took the victory, but earned only $57,952.83 for the effort. Other big names with big showings last night include Shane “THEBUBBLE1″ Pacheco an  Connor “BLANCONEGRO” Dridan, who finished in 1st and 2nd place in the UB Poker $200K GTD, and Josh “JBT449” Bergman, who finished 3rd in the Sunday Mulligan.

Here are the results of the major final tables from Sunday, including a recap of the Sunday Million action:

Seat 2: rockyone123 (28,645,587)
Seat 3: DeuceBuster (7,090,637)
Seat 4: troyones (2,375,282)
Seat 5: Hevad “RaiNKhAN” Khan (6,098,972)
Seat 6: dyplo (1,048,384)
Seat 7: Mark “newhizzle” Newhouse (19,394,266)
Seat 8: dylanmarks25 (2,461,479)
Seat 9: Raindrops_69 (9,136,086)

The Sunday Million final table kicked off with a bang as it lost two players in a matter of minutes.  First, Steve “Stev0l_” Leonard made his exit in 9th place when his 77 ran into Raindrops_69’s 99.  Then, Hevad “RaiNKHaN” Khan ran his jacks into rockyone123’s KK to bust out in 8th place.

With only two big blinds left, it seemed like dyplo was the inevitable 7th place finisher, but he was able to double up twice to stay alive while some of the other short stacks made their stands.  Dylanmarks25 had half his stack in with the big blind and called off the rest of it with 45 after facing a raise from DeuceBuster, who held A2.  The A87c] flop gave DeuceBuster top pair to dylanmarks25’s gutshot.  The turn and river came Jthen A and dylanmarks25 exited in 7th place.

Troyones would be the next to fall after pushing all in for his last 2 million with KK.  Raindrops_69 called with A9 and hit nines on the flop and turn to make trips and trim the field to five.  The very next hand, dyplo’s improbable run came to a close as well.  Dyplo moved all-in for his last 1.2 million with J9 and DeuceBuster called from the big blind with AQ.  The board ran out J654A and the pair of aces were enough to give DeuceBuster the pot and eliminate dyplo in 5th place.

DeuceBuster was on a roll and doubled through Mark “newhizzle” Newhouse the very next hand.  Raindrops_69 raised from under the gun, DeuceBuster reraised out of the small blind to 2.2 million and newhizzle moved all-in for almost 26 million.  Raindrops_69 folded, but DeuceBuster called off his remaining 11 million with TT.  Newhizzle had the best of it with KK, but the T82 flop gave the advantage to DeuceBuster.  The turn and river brought no king, so DeuceBuster doubled up to the chip lead, while newhizzle became the short stack at the table with 12 million.

Newhizzle would get a little lucky himself, doubling up when his AK managed to spike an ace on Raindrops_69’s KK.  That hand left Raindrops_69 with only two million chips, but he was able to double up twice to get back up over 9 million.  Four-handed play continued on for quite some time as newhizzle began to pull away from the pack while DeuceBuster found himself increasingly short on chips.  Eventually, DeuceBuster shoved all-in over the top of a raise from newhizzle holding A8 to newhizzle’s KJ.  The flop and turn looked good for DeuceBuster as the board ran out 4323, but the J on the river gave newhizzle the best hand and eliminated DeuceBuster in 4th place.

Another fortunate river for newhizzle would spell the end for Raindrops_69 as well.  Newhizzle put Raindrops_69 all-in for his last 8 million and Raindrops_69 called with A2.  Newhizzle’s K5 needed help and didn’t get any with the AQQ flop.  The 4 on the turn gave newhizzle a flush draw though, which got there with the 3 on the river.  Raindrops_69 was out in 3rd place and newhizzle took a more than 2-1 chip advantage into heads-up play.

It only took one hand for all the chips to get in the middle.  Rockyone123 picked up AT, but newhizzle held JJ.  The board ran out 644Q2 and newhizzle took down the hand to end the tournament with an outright victory worth almost $250,000.
