Online Poker: “TheRipcurl” and “xqsays” Take Down FTOPS Events
- Lance Bradley | August 13, 2009
The 13th installment of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series is developing a couple of running themes as it heads towards its final four days. Through 17 events so far there hasn’t been a single overlay and red Full Tilt pros are making a habit out of showing up at final tables.
The action Wednesday followed that theme with two events. In the days opening tournament, 1,247 players put the prizepool of the $256 Pot Limit Omaha knockout event at $249,400 - nearly $50,000 more than the guarantee.
“TheRipcurl” made his way through the entire field and defeated “SoulCollector22” heads-up to collect the $54,868 first place prize. For his efforts “SoulCollector22” banked $34,916. Toto Leonidas finished 15th to give the red Full Tilt pros another final table close call. Other notable finishers included David “Doc Sands” Sands who finished third for $25,251.75 and Brent “Bhanks11″ Hanks who came in fourth for $20,263.75.

The later starting event saw another million dollar prize pool with 1,134 players bucking up the $322 buy-in plus a staggering 2,041 rebuys and 759 add-ons. The total prize pool of the six-max No Limit Hold’em with rebuys event ended up at $1,180,200 and the final two players managed to come to an agreement so they walked away with over $200,000 each.
Mark “xqsays” Radoja and Bluff Magazine Online Player of the Year contender Chris “Moorman1″ Moorman made a deal when play reached heads-up giving Moorman $204,000 and Radoja $196,119.50. The two online poker pros agreed to play for the title and an additional $12,000 which Radoja eventually walked away with.
Red Full Tilt pro David Pham made the final table and finished fourth for $87,334.80. Ozzy “Ozzy 87″ Sheikh finished 12th for $12,892.20.
