Poker Agency Poker Icons Expands to New Markets
- Lance Bradley | April 8, 2009
Poker agency Poker Icons announced plans this week to expand their operations into Asia, Eastern Europe and the United Kingdom. The pinnacle of the expansion comes with the addition of offices in both Macau and London.
“I’m seriously excited about the opening of our UK office,” said Per Hagen, Poker Icons President. “We predict that poker in the UK is about to experience a rapid explosion; we are now in position to provide support thanks to the opening of our UK office.”
Poker Icons currently represents some of the best young talent in Europe including Annette Obrestad, Juha Helppi, Peter Jepsen, Jesper Hougaard, Alex Kamberis, Chris Moorman, John Tabatabai and Soren Kongsgaard. The winner of the BLUFF Online Poker Challenge, Brian Hawkins, is also a client.
The UK office will be headed up by Glen Richardson. After researching the poker industry in the UK Richardson recognized a lack of support for British professional poker players and reached out to Poker Icons to form a partnership.
“Business isn’t just about money, for me it’s more about doing something you enjoy and can be passionate about. I simply love Poker and I can’t wait to get fully immersed in the UK poker scene,” said Richardson, who developed a passion for poker in 2006.
The Poker Icons office in Macau will be run by Dave Sito who will be responsible for signing new talents and serving partners in that fast-growing market.
