Russ Hamilton Still Ducking Questions on UB Scandal

Ever since word first broke that former World Series of Poker Main Event winner Russ Hamilton had a hand in the UltimateBet superuser scandal the poker community has been waiting to hear from him. After the Kahnawake Gaming Commission made his involvement as a beneficiary of the super user accounts Hamilton has been silent and remained as far removed from the spotlight as possible.

Enter Dave Farra and a camera crew from RawVegas.tv, the poker world’s answer to TMZ. Acting on a tip that Hamilton was golfing at a Las Vegas resort Farra and a camera crew waited for an opportunity to speak with Hamilton as he exited the unnamed golf resort. The resulting video is below.

Farra asks Hamilton a series of questions as the 1994 World Champion exited the club with six-time WSOP bracelet winner Layne Flack. Despite being linked to the biggest scandal in the history of online poker Hamilton has turned every interview request including that of 60 Minutes.

Ater being given the opportunity to speak on the record for the first time since the scandal broke Hamilton refused to answer any of the following questions from Farra:

  • “Are you in any way associated with the UltimateBet.net superuser cheating scandal?”
  • “Would you like to take this opportunity to apologize to the online poker community?”
  • “When 60 minutes requested an interview you declined. Is there any guilt associated with that?”
  • “Do you have any remorse at all?”
  • “After so many years in the poker communtity don’t you feel that you owe an answer to the fans and fellow players out there?”

After Farra’s last question Hamilton entered his car and exited the parking lot.
