Streak 2 Seven: HotSexyBeast Still Ahead, Others Closing

The 2011 World Series of Poker is nearing its half way point, leaving just over 30 events to get picks in the Streak 2 Seven contest. No one has yet challenged the streak of three that HotSexyBeast and jewgalo put together in the first week a few new contenders are nipping at their heels.

After correctly selecting Bertrand Grospellier and Jason Somerville to win, Georgebob18, kch7902 and PsychJJ are all within one of moving into a tie for the best streak. While Georgebob18 and kch7902 have remained idle since making those two picks, PsychJJ is looking to continue his streak with a Daniel Idema win in Event 27, $10,000 Limit Hold’em Championship.

There were two chances to get in on the action today: the $2,500 Six-Handed No Limit Hold’em and $10,000 Limit Hold’em Championships. Leading the way with 74% of the Streak 2 Seven selections in the Six-Handed No Limit Hold’em was Chirs Moorman who starts Day 3 second in chips with 22 players left. The selections in the $10,000 Limit Hod’em event were slightly more varied with Justin Smith getting 21% of the votes followed by Nick Schulman with 17%, while overnight chip leader Matthew Gallin only received 4% of the votes.  There are 14 players remaining in the event.
