You’d think that the reach of online poker giant Full Tilt Poker and their ever-expanding team of pros was worldwide, but apparently they forgot about Sweden. Until now.

Swedish poker pro Michael Tureniec has signed to become the first Swedish-born player on Team Full Tilt. The 23-year-old is coming off of a 19th place finish at the Aussie Millions good for $31,800. He also finished as the runner-up at the London stop on the European Poker Tour in September. He banked $757,000 for that performance but joining the prestigous group of Full Tilt pros is a dream come true.

“It feels great to be the first Swede to sign with Full Tilt Poker. This is naturally a large step forward for me in my poker career,” said Tureniec.

The signing of Tureniec, who is represtented by the Poker Icons agency, comes only two weeks after Full Tilt Poker signed 21-year-old Danish poker sensation Soren Kongsgaard, another Poker Icons client. As part of his contract Tureniec will be featured as a red pro on the site complete with his own avatar and table.
