Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho Eliminated From The Amazing Race
- Lance Bradley | November 2, 2009

Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho can now focus on their poker careers after the pair were eliminated from The Amazing Race in Sunday's episode.
Poker’s latest reality TV stars saw their run at fame - and a half million dollars - end Sunday night. Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho were eliminated from CBS’ The Amazing Race after being unable to complete a challenge in the Netherlands.
Michelle and Ho outlasted five of the 12 teams on the show. Had they gone on to be the first team to finish in the final episode they would have split the $1,00,000 first place prize for $500,000 apiece.
After a couple of close calls, including being the last team to finish on two previous occasions, Ho and Michelle met their match in a detour just outside of Amsterdam. Neither was able to complete the task that required one of the two competitors to ring the bell on a carnival test-of-strength game. After being unable to complete that task after more than 50 attempts the duo decided to end their run.
“We know in our hearts that we’ve really, really given, not just in this challenge but every challenge, our all and that’s all we can do,” said Ho to host Phil Keoghan, who greeted the couple at the challenge rather than at the final check-in location.
The first time they were the last team to finish all challenges was one of two non-elimination shows. The duo returned the following week having to complete an additional task. Lady Luck smiled on them again when they were the final team to reach the final checkpoint only to have another team lose their travel documents and were unable to continue.
Michelle and Ho join Jean-Robert Bellande, who appeared on Survivor, and Annie Duke, who made the final two on Celebrity Apprentice only to lose to Joan Rivers, as professional poker players competing on reality TV shows.
