Tokwiro Enterprises Responds To KGC’s UltimateBet Cheating Report

Tokwiro Enterprises, the parent company of online poker room UltimateBet, has issued its official response to the Kahnawake Gaming Commission’s final report on the cheating scandal that occurred at UB from 2003 to 2007.

In its response, Tokwiro notes that the KGC ruled that Tokwiro had met the conditions imposed on it in the wake of the scandal and showed adequate cause to prevent its license from being revoked. The response also pointed out the KGC’s conclusion that Tokwiro “was not aware of the deficiencies in the control system until after the cheating activity had been initiated.” In addition to a $1.5 million fine, Tokwiro also paid for the full cost of the KGC’s investigation.

“The welfare of our players is our top priority and we are very pleased they now have access to the details of the fraud and all the facts and findings released by the KGC included in their report,” Paul Leggett, Chief Operating Officer for Tokwiro, said in his company’s official response to the KGC.  “A lot of our players have been patiently awaiting the release of the full list of usernames involved in the cheating incidences, and we can now answer any of their outstanding inquiries related to their refunds.”

“It is extremely important to us that our players and the rest of the poker community understand that the individuals who perpetrated the cheating have never had any involvement with our company and we hope that the KGC report helps to inform the poker community of this fact,” Leggett continued.  “Over the past year we have literally rebuilt our company, creating a new management team and core staff that are poker players themselves and passionate about the game, and we are very excited to demonstrate what we can do in the coming months.”

Since the scandal first broke, Tokwiro has implemented a number of new security measures. Among them are a complete corporate reorganization, new ethics policies, stricter rules for account name changes and VIP player vetting, a new Security Department with a specialized group of poker security analysts, and a state-of-the-art Security Center with a number of tools designed to catch collusion, chip-dumping, bots, and other forms of cheating.

UltimateBet has asked that players with questions regarding incidences of cheating or any other concerns email UB’s support staff at pokersecurity@ultimatebet.com or call 1-888-200-2933 toll-free in the US and Canada.

Such a joke. Tokwiro is so in bed with KGC the fact that Tokwiro paid a fine is just money going from left hand to right hand. As for paying the costs of the investigation, same thing, some KGC employees were paid by Tokwiro. Very incestuous.
