Dolan won big in Biloxi

This year the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi may not have had the strength of the World Poker Tour to bolster attendance, but the Southern stop fared just fine and produced a number of big name winners.  We’ve got the results from the biggest events of the Beau’s Million Dollar Heater, plus results from the nearby Isle Classic in Florida and more Aussie Millions results in this edition of Tournament Tracker.

Thanks to a $1 million guarantee on its $5,000 buy-in with re-entries Main Event, the Beau Rivage drew 210 runners and generated a seven-figure prize pool, not to mention a stacked final table.  November Niner John Dolan defeated a line-up that included Ryan Welch (5th), Matt Stout (6th), and Randal Flower (9th) to earn the win and pick up over $330,000.

Dolan wasn’t the only big name in the winner’s circle in Biloxi either.  Fellow Florida native Jonathan Little earned the W in the $2,000 No Limit Hold’em side event, picking up over $42,000.  Joe Tehan won not one, but two separate events, including the $1,580 No Limit Hold’em event for over $30,000.

One state over, the Isle Casino in Pompano Beach is running is Isle Classic.  The big buy-in events are coming up in the next couple of days, but the action is already going strong, including a $1,500 No Limit Hold’em Event with bounties that drew 192 runners.  Steven Frankel topped that field, pocketing $40,000.

Down the coast, the latest big series at Borgata in Atlantic City is underway and it certainly kicked off with a bang as hometown hero Will Failla won the $500 buy-in opening event.  The buy-in may have been relatively small, but the prize pool was enormous.  Thanks to more than 1,800 entries, the prize pool exceeded more than $935,000, the lion’s share of which went to Failla.  Failla picked up over $160,000 for the win, not to mention continued his hot streak dating back to the Legends of Poker Main Event at the Bike back in August.

Another big winner from Borgata is Matthew Weiss, who won the $1,500 Heads-Up No Limit Hold’em event.  Failla also made the money in that tournament, advancing to the quarterfinals.  Other notables in the money in the tournament include Josh Brikis and semi finalists Darren Elias and Ryan Hall.

Down under, the Aussie Millions side event action is really heating up, with the bigger buy-in events keeping players occupied.  Ross Parkhill defeated a crop of more than 300 players in the AUD$1,500 event to pick up an AUD $140,000 payday.  Aussie sensation James Obst made the final table of that event, finishing ninth.
