UB Poker was named Wednesday as presenting sponsor of the Heartland Poker Tour, a nationally-televised tournament series currently in their seventh season. New episodes air the week of March 28th airing from the HPT event held in January at the Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas.  The final table featured poker pro JJ Liu, MMA fighter Heath Herring and poker media insider Rob “Veerob” Perelman.

“What HPT has been able to do is fantastic.  The best kept secret in poker with their homegrown events and national television exposure, they simply get bigger and better every year out.  For us, to come in and back their product, we know we’ll help to shine a spotlight on HPT like never before. So, expect more players having some fun at the HPT tables and overall richer prize pools across the tour,” said Team UB Pro Joe Sebok.

UB.net will have a presence in all HPT Season 7 episodes, at hptpoker.com as well as on-site at HPT live events. The site will also host a series of online tourneys that give players the opportunity to win prize packages, including HPT tournament entries, event hospitality, UB swag, plus cash towards travel and accommodation.

Members of Team UB including Sebok, Eric Baldwin, Adam “Roothlus” Levy and Brandon Cantu will represent the brand at select HPT events during the year and also provide guest commentary during the televised episodes. “Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho are fan favorites after playing a few HPT events.  We’re looking forward to seeing them more often, as well as other members of Team UB,” said HPT Executive Producer and Co-founder Greg Lang.

Casinos in Colorado, Iowa, Oklahoma, Indiana, Florida, Michigan and Nevada will hold HPT events during 2011, as several hundred players looking to reach the televised final table as the winner usually earns a six-figure score. Each final table airs as two one-hour segments on a syndicated network of stations thourought the US, along with distribution on DirecTV and Dish Network.   HPT programming is available in over 100 million US households and has distribution deals in Europe and the Caribbean. The next HPT Main Event takes place at the Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel in Tama, Iowa April 2nd-3rd.  Recently named HPT Tour Ambassador Darvin Moon will be one of the notables expected to appear for the $1,500 + $150 tournament.
