William Brindise Wins U.S. Poker Championship Main Event

William Brindise has the money and the title after defeating Men Nguyen heads-up in the Main Event of the 2009 US Poker Championship.
The 2009 U.S. Poker Championship wrapped up Wednesday at the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City with William Brindise defeating Men “the Master” Nguyen heads-up to win the Main Event to claim $261,800.
When viewers tune into the coverage of the two televised final tables they’ll see a brother act make an appearance at each table. Nick Binger finished sixth in the $5,000 buy-in Main Event while his brother Michael scored a spot at the final table in the $2,500 Pot Limit Omaha event. The final tables of both events will be televised in early 2010 on SPIKE TV.
Also making the final table of the Main Event was 2009 World Series of Poker bracelet winner Brian Lemke. The cousin of the late Justin Shronk banked $46,200 for a fifth place finish.
The Main Event drew a field of 154 players for a total prize pool of $770,000. The PLO event drew only 32 players with the prize pool reaching $80,000.
