World Poker Tour Signs Broadcast Deal for India

Only two weeks after announcing their new broadcast agreement with Fox Sports Net the World Poker Tour has signed a deal to distribute their programming to the 1.1 billion of India. Zee Sports, the exclusive broadcast partner for both the Indian Football (soccer) and Indian Cricket Leagues, will carry WPT programming beginning in September.

“Zee Sports and WPTE together create a powerful partnership as the most trusted vehicles to introduce poker to India,” said Steve Lipscomb, WPT Founder, President and CEO. “We are delighted to be making history together.”

Poker fans in the Southern Asia region will be able to see 19 two-hour episodes. Under the agreement Zee Sports will promote the WPT both online and on Zee Sports programming across the Zee Network, the largest provider of Hindi programming in the world.
