WPT: Jonathan Little Wins Foxwoods World Poker Classic

For the second time in his career 23-year-old Jonathan Little is a World Poker Tour champion after winning the Foxwoods Poker Classic early Wednesday morning.

Little, who entered final table play third in chips, defeated Jonathan Jaffe in heads-up play to add this title to his Mirage Poker Showdown win from 2007. Jaffe and Little played heads-up for 170 hands after Charlie Marchese was eliminated in third.

When heads up play began Jaffe had a slight chip lead with 6,630,000 to Little’s 5,715,000. Over the four hours and 52 minutes it took for heads-up play Jaffe saw his stack increase to as high as 10,000,000. The final hand saw Little win a pre-flop all-in with Ac-Qh against the Ah-10d of Jaffe.

The win earned $1,120,310 for Little who now has career earnings of $3,867,291. Jaffe earned $670,636 for the runner-up finish.The week-long event attracted 412 players, each paying the $10,000 buy-in to push the total prize pool to #3,876,508.
David “the Dragon” Pham finished fourth and along with his $240,344 cash earned 158.4 BLUFF Magazine Player-of-the-Year points and should move into fourth place behind Men “the Master” Nguyen.
 
The next WPT stop is the Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic December 13-19 at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
